Malcolm Cowley, one of the original founders of buy.at, is joining the Board of Optimus Performance Marketing to help mastermind a significant new growth strategy for the business which will respond to Advertisers’ growing needs for greater control of their Affiliate activity.
A recognisable figure in the Affiliate & Performance industry, Malcolm was part of the team who launched buy.at in 2002 and latterly became its General Manager for Sales in the US after the network was bought out by AOL Advertising in 2008.
Malcolm says: “Optimus Performance Marketing has a very solid foundation and an exceptional reputation in the business. In fact, it is at a very similar stage as buy.at was when we achieved our first round of investment, and I’m therefore looking forward to helping build yet another progressive and focused business for this industry.”

Mark Russell, Managing Director at Optimus Performance Marketing, adds: “Malcolm’s knowledge and experience of our industry are remarkable, and will be extremely useful in assisting us to move the business into its new stage of development. We’re delighted he recognises the commitment and determination of the existing team and wants to come onboard to help us take the opportunity we know is out there.”

Optimus Performance Marketing are delighted to welcome John Marshall to the company.
I have asked John to write something about himself:-
“I’ve been asked to write something about myself as a biog….well here goes.
I fell into affiliate marketing by accident really. I left school in 1988 (so you can do the maths) and completed my 4 year engineering apprenticeship in my home city of Coventry (that’s past the Watford gap) and then proceeded to be made redundant.
From then on I took a career change into retail management. For companies like Toys r Us and Debenhams.
Having tired of the abuse most retail staff have to take, I moved again to warehouse management and logistics….and by some strange twist of fate, ended up doing what I said I would never do…..sit in an office!
My previous role at Ei42 saw me manage over 1400 programs, commission claims and our companies participation in the Affiliate Future 2009 Barbados “event”.
So thats work covered…now home life.
I’m engaged to Sharon, who is currently back in Coventry with Daniel (age 13) and the three dogs. The house is for sale as we are all committed to a future down here with Optimus-am and Plymouth. Mark has even offered to have me re-engineered to become a Plymouth Argyle Fan….thanks!
I’m very excited about the future down here, not only because I can nearly see the coast from the office, but because of the opportunity that Optimus-am offers….”
Later this week we will be announcing the programmes that John will be responsible for ongoing and also announcing some new clients that we will be managing.

A box arrived in the office yesterday to ‘Optimus Performance Marketing’ with no from address. Mark was out of the office and despite my begging he wouldn’t let me open it until he was back in. So the second he walked through the door this evening I made him open it, and look what was inside…

Thanks very much to the Loquax team for the kind gifts! Although I must question why my duck is the only one with it’s mouth open???
Thanks again Jason and Jude!
