This year marks the 25th anniversary of Children’s Hospice South West. Optimus Performance Marketing (Optimus) celebrated this milestone with their first fundraising campaign, ‘25 bags for 25 years’ which is estimated to have raised a total of £625.

Founded in 1990, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is a local charity committed to making the most of short and precious lives. With their three hospices located around the South West, in total costing the charity around £8.5 million, fundraising is vitally essential to allow the charity to continue doing the fantastic work that they do.

Last month, Optimus announced their corporate fundraising partnership with CHSW. This month marked the agencies first event of several planned internal fundraising event, ‘25 bags for 25 years’. Employees of Optimus were kindly asked to donate at least one bag of unwanted goods (from cuddly toys, clothes, books, shoes, bedding etc.). These bags have an estimated value of £625 to kick start their fundraising efforts in style.

The 25 bags were collected directly by Children’s Hospice South West.

Lorna Damella, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for CHSW said: “We are absolutely delighted that the team at Optimus have chosen to support Children’s Hospice South West. We look after children and families from all across Plymouth and Cornwall at Little Harbour, our children’s hospice in St Austell and we rely almost entirely on donations to keep our service running. Thank you for helping us to continue supporting these children and their short and precious lives.”

The 25 bags for 25 Years campaign is just the beginning of a calendar of events our team has planned and I’m looking forward to seeing how much we can raise for such a worthy cause.”

Optimus have a line of exciting events coming up in the next couple of months; members of the team will be running and volunteering at the Plymouth Half Marathon in April; they will be sponsoring a paint stand at the rainbow run in June followed by members of the team getting involved in a sponsored skydive in September.
