This morning, news filtered through that Optimus staff members Melissa Blue and Mikey Williams have become graduates in the Institute of Data and marketing after successfully passing their final exam.
The pair have been enrolled on the course since September 2019 and sat the exam back in June of this year. The hard-working duo studied for the course as they carried out their roles at Optimus, and this morning’s news was greeted with clapping and cheers from their Optimus work colleagues within the Plymouth office. A smiling CEO Mark Russell explains “I am delighted for both Melissa and Mikey after hearing the news and I had every faith that they would both pass the final exam.” The Optimus employees are the first to graduate from the course whilst being employed full time after Mark Russell offered the chance to employees: “We offered the course to our account managers and it is something that as a company, we are very pleased and proud to have implemented and will continue to do so in the future,” explains Mark.
It would be Mikey Williams who announced the news in the office this morning as he moves into his third year at Optimus. “I am absolutely delighted to have passed my final exam in the IDM Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing. I have been working at Optimus for just over 2 years and this was a really exciting opportunity provided to me, by the Senior Management Team. One aimed at assisting my development and improving my marketing skills. Without Optimus PM this achievement would not have been possible, so I am eternally grateful for all their support and guidance throughout.
Melissa would miss out on the round of applause within the office as she works from home, but congratulations were sent over Skype. A proud Melissa explains: “The Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing was really informative and increased my understanding of other areas of the industry that I’ve not had the opportunity to look into before. The knowledge and ideas combine brilliantly with what we do at Optimus, putting the affiliate channel into context with the wider marketing strategy. I really appreciate having had the opportunity to gain the qualification alongside my role at OPM and it’s certainly coming in use. I look forward to putting what I’ve learnt into action with my clients and also the upcoming virtual graduation ceremony.”
The pair will don their gowns as they attend the virtual ceremony which takes place in November. There will be two more names hoping to make the Class of 2020 honours board at Optimus, as Ellie Inman and Ryan Winfield who have both sat the exam, find out their results in October.
A special day for Optimus and for Melissa and Mikey. A huge Optimus congratulations to you both.
